D.I.Y TRANSPARENT CLUTCH

D.I.Y TRANSPARENT CLUTCH

I just want to skip the hellos and how are you, and get to the point and just tell you what we are making today. Yes it’s a D.I.Y post. But I have to be polite. So Hello everyone, I am shasha and welcome to my blog, where it is all about broke girls like me. We act cheap but we dress expensive and on trend. How do we do that? Well I will show you. For today’s post, we will be making a purse. Not just any kind, but the see-trough purses or handbags. Also known as the clear purse/handbag or transparent clutch. I want to thank you guys for all the love and support. Please stick with me as always, doper DIYs are coming, just as promised. Thanks for having my back and making me discover so much more about what I can do. I have never done a handbag before and this is my first time, and I have never worked on shoes before until a few months ago, the same goes for jewelries. Thank you dolls. I assure you, you are going to love this one, I do. I even wore it today and I kept singing “happy” on replay in my head. It was a great day, I met an old crush and I must say “baby still got it”, I had an audition today and I slayed it like “chaaaaa” and I got paid. I graduated last weekend too. So at the moment, all is great. Anyway, let’s begin.

WHAT YOU NEED:
-      Plastic
-      Needle
-      Thread
-      Studs/spikes
-      Push button
-      Chain/ornament
-      Scissors

For those of you who are new to my blog or these D.I.Y posts. I am just gonna go ahead and say it. Us broke girls don’t buy studs. We buy belts with studs on them, that way you get twice or trice the amount of studs if you were to buy single studs. So I got my belt for 100Ksh at Gikomba (best for studded belts and Ngara too). The plastic was expensive but I had no choice because they only sell it per meter, and it was 400Ksh. Do not forget your push buttons. And make sure it is the self “applying” buttons. Some push buttons can’t be done by hand. So please ask questions. I did not buy the chain, if you recall my most recent D.I.Y, I am using the same chain. D.I.Y Body chain (shoulder)

STEP 1:
Measure how you want your purse/handbag to be and cut. I did not measure with a ruler but another purse/handbag.  And put your studs first on the front part before stitching, because when putting in studs, you will pull the plastic a lot and that’s harder…

STEP 2: Stitch the ends of the plastic and add your studs onto the stitched area, just to make it neat and clean. If you do not have studs, another dope idea I thought of, was covering it up with leather or a really nice tribal Africa print. Looks awesome in my head.

STEP 3: Attach your chain or ornament. This ornament could be just anything you want to put on the purse to give it that vavavoom. But if you prefer it simple, you can just skip this step.

STEP 4: Work on the upper part of your handbag, by cutting the sides and adding on the push button. Note that, this step “may” require super glue. The gold and black effect on the button is not part of the button. I just glued it on. I used to be a earring.

YOU ARE DONE.
Put on your favorite outfit , high heels and go conquer the world. You can make extras for selling or to give away to friends.

NOTE:

-      You will break a nail
-      You cannot skip the stitching and start putting the studs, it will destroy the shape of the handbag
-      If you make this style, close up the ends of the chains, really well as it can slide out. To do so, you can use pliers
-      If you are having trouble putting in the studs, punch in the holes using the needle.
-      This DIY takes about 2 hours to complete (If you are slow like me)
-      You can try dripping the chains on the side, that’s sexy too.
- The plastic does not wrinkle, and please get the soft not hard plastic.
-      Don’t put pads and tampons in the bag.
-      Brag about your self-made designer handbag

TAKING STOCK

TAKING STOCK / OOTD
!!!

Hello guys, I hope all is well, I came across these posts called “Taking stock” a few weeks ago and I decided to do one, just for fun. And let you in on what I have been upto, but before we start just a quick say on what I am wearing or should I say wore, because this outfit post was prepared a week ago, I am no longer a blonde anymore. I love changing up my hair, I look different with every hairstyle and I use it as an excuse to act like someone else. My favorite so far is my side shave and this blonde weave I had on.

WHAT I AM WEARING
-          Studded beanie – Done by me. Get yours.  Link here: D.I.Y CUSTOMIZED BEANIE
-          Faux leather skirt – 100ksh from Toy market
-          White lace top – 50Ksh from Kawangware
-          Ankle boots – I don’t remember bought them in 2011

Now let’s begin:

Wanting: To upgrade my blogspot into a web blog. If you know what I mean and someone who can do that for me. Please let me know.
Playing: Country music and slow rnb… I am feeling life, and feeling myself. I hope this feeling lasts. This is not a perfect world so it probably won’t but hey, what da heck, enjoy it while it lasts.
Watching: Scandal. I never watched it before and I am hooked. Olivia pope. Side chick level 99. She is making me wish I was a side chick too so I can scream at obama, “Earn me barrack, earn me”. But seriously, she needs to get her life, rules and regulations.
Liking: How simple life has become, how long my nails have grown, how 2014 is almost over… etc
Reading: Old messages and realizing how life has changed. Really, it has. Lost so many friends, not that I am complaining, I actually like life this way, the drawbacks are that, I get less jobs and no gossip, but I am fine.

Wondering: Why I am not rich yet… haha
Hoping: To remain this happy
Wasting: No jar of chocolate, I scoop that thing until the end.
Marveling: At how this world is so blind and can’t see that religion is what is destroying this world. The root of violence and evil nowadays is religion. It condemns the same acts it stands for. Wake up. Imagine a world with no religion.
Needing: For God to bless me with money because I need more shoes, a weave, a blow dryer, a new laptop, a new phone and a miracle in my bank account.
Smelling: Fried chicken. Yum yum !
Wearing: A varsity sweater and jeans, with slippers. I am just home chilling and smelling chicken lol.
Thinking: About what Hairstyle I should make for my graduation. Yes she did it! Graduation week. Anyway, I am thinking braids, but will the hat fit if I did braids, or should I just put on a weave again. I don’t know.

Bookmarking: Shoes. I developed an addiction to shoes and I am loving it, because I need shoes, I have two full closets, clothes in my suitcases, clothes in other places and no shoes. It’s about that time, I stop buying clothes and start buying shoes, at least one pair a month. Jah bless!

OOTD: LEATHER SO CHEAP

OOTD: LEATHER SO CHEAP!

Hello everyone. I would like to share with you my outfit of the day. Not literally because I wore it a few days ago, and I can’t post instantly since I need to take the pictures, edit the pictures, select and upload. Being the distracted person I am, that process sometimes take me 2 hours. I will probably have a movie on the side, a snack and trying to do all that at the same time. So whenever I refer to a post as my outfit of the day, it’s most likely 2-3 days ago. So on this day, I was feeling myself, I had that swag flowing through my veins all night, so I planned my outfit the night before, I don’t usually do that, but I had a brand new snap back and I wanted to wear, My weave is just so bad, I have to go to the salon but I will have it on for one more week, because my graduation is coming up and I am beginning classes in a week, so I want to be ready for both. I want to look fresh and new.
So for this outfit, It only cost me 70ksh. Yes it is unbelievable. Please note that when I say outfit, I exclude accessories. So yes, my outfit is worth 70ksh.
British flag T-shirt= 20ksh
Split Leather Skirt = 50ksh
For the other items which are obviously more expensive. My Jordans are old, so we know at how much I got them for, for my snapback I got it along Ngong Road for 400Ksh and to me that is expensive, because I remember a time when I used to see them at 300Ksh. That extra 100Ksh can get me another leather skirt and T-shirt. Omg I sound so cheap, but honestly this is the real me, I have always been this way, I love saving money, I used to be ashamed but since being public with my expenditure habits, and getting praised for it, I can be myself. Yes I am cheap but I am not boring. Anyway so here is my outfit.
I be Voguing it out!

If you liked this outfit and would like to copy it, I do have a size 8 leather skirt, real leather for sale, whatsapp for details or inbox me, or comment below. Anything… Thanks loves.
...Kisses...

STREET FASHION. THE DESIGNERS

STREET FASHION, DESIGNERS

Welcome to part II of street fashion , the previous post was about the experience and this post is going to be about the designers who featured at the event. The event started morning hours and I got there at around 2PM, I wish I was there earlier, but I was just in time for the fashion show, took a few photos on the red carpet, a few hellos on my way and went to watch the fashion show.

If you remember at my previous post " I found love” I talk about my friend’s designs to be showcased at “Street fashion”.  Before we talk about the fabulous pieces, let’s talk about the mastermind behind it. Joska and I met online through blogging, I was new here and she used to visit my blog and that boosted my confidence, at least I had a regular visitor and I even featured on her blog with my most popular post ever “15 Ways to wear a denim shirt” and that gave me even more exposure. I didn’t know she was a designer until I saw her work on instagram and when I found out she was showcasing her designs at “street fashion” I had to be there. It was the fashion show to watch, it was that perfect and the pieces were so beautiful that I ordered myself one and hoping to feature in as a model on the next show. *Fingers crossed*. So seat tight and let’s begin.

Other designers showcased their pieces too and next we have, Keziah Kabutu with her random collection bringing street fashion to the runway. Keziah has been designing for about a year and styled Mrs Africa Nazarene Grace during the pageant and she won the title.

Next we have, Emperor designs, aged 23.

Lastly we have Wambui Kamui designs from the fashion gallery.
