How is everyone doing? I am back yet again with another post. I hope you all had a merry merry Christmas and I wish you a prosperous new year. 2013 has been an awesome year in fashion, so much happened. New trend kept coming every other day. It was a fashionable year with a lot of goodies. So I will take you all back there and list my top 2013 favorite trends that I loved and I am sure will still love even when it’s out of style. Then we are going to look at what we need to have for 2014, let’s hope it will be another fierce year too, because 2013 was HOT!!!

  

2014 MUST HAVES!

Please note that this is all based on personal preference and personal style influence. New trend is born everyday. But for me personally and 2014 new trends, these are HOT!! And top of my list.

SWEATER MADNESS!!

 

 

For all my ladies out there who love to feel comfortable. This right here is for us! I already have 4 different sweaters in my closet, oversized, elbow patches, cropped… I love my sweaters. All of them. Perfect for this weather! 

Freezing in style!

FAUX THIS, FAUX THAT, FAUX EVERYTHING!

 

Leather is back baby! On everything. Last year is was denims! 2014 it’s leather time and I am so excited because I love leather, I love my faux pants, I must have the faux dress and the skirts. OMG!

BACKPACK COMEBACK!

I love! I love! I love these! I am pretty girly but sometimes, I don’t want to have a handbag so throw me the backpack and we will be best friends. I already have one myself, but seeing these. I want more. In fact! I want it all!

SWAGGEEERRR!!!!

 

Swag written all over this trend. I am speechless about this. Ever since I saw it on miley cyrus, I was like, this trend will be hot! Wait for it.

DENIM AND BOYFRIEND JEANS!

Denims never go out of fashion, it never fades and 2013 brought it back to us. My favorite Denim on Denim look was Rihanna. Who knew head to toe denim could look so classy? She wins for me on best denim on denim look of the year.

Then we have the boyfriend jeans. Reminds me of back then when baggy clothing was the “ish”. Boyfriend jeans is a gift from 2013 that I am pretty is not about to become old fashion anytime soon. It’s here to stay. Thank you 2013.

FA-FA-FABULOUS!

I am so excited to write about this look, first of all, let me just say that kylie jenner and I wore the same thing. Now for a little fun, you guys vote! Who wore it best??? Leave a comment!

Recently fell in love with crop tops and those pants are just gorgeous! If you look closely, you can see my cross ring. 

CHILL PILL!

I Call this the chill pill because it’s a perfect way to look hot but still very confortable, because I love confort and that is what my style is about, being confortable but still bring it! And that is what my combat boots are all about.

The High low trend just did it for me, it’s perfect, I like to hide my booty but don’t look like I am wearing a men’s shirt. No! So thank you to the High low. Thank you so much!

I prefer tights and leggings over jeans, Again because it’s confortable. So my printed tights, leather tights, jeggings, faux pants… etc are here to stay. I love them!

BODYCON BABY!

 Holding it all together! Sexy but not trashy!

I do have more 2013 favorites, but those are my top favorites, things that will never be uncool anytime soon. I will love them until people stop wearing them, but I am sure no one will not stop wearing them because they are awesome! Once again thank you 2013, you have been good to us fashion addicts! We will miss you but it’s time for 2014 to dress us.

D.I.Y BRITISH FLAG SNEAKERS

CHRISTMAS 

NAIL ART DESIGN

WHATSUUUUPPP!!!

Just a few days until christmas. So let's party in style. 

Red and blue is the color. British and american flag are trending in fashion big time. I love trends, gotta have it or gotta make it. And today we will make it. As you all know, I am all about looking fabulous and in style BUT on a budget. It's the festive season but that doesn't mean you can't save some cash, remember new years is coming and valentine and probably somebody's birthday too. I love looking good, but sometimes I just can't afford it or I can't find it, so i make it! Let's do these bad boys! It's easy, It's cheap and it's DOPE! 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

- Sneakers

- Fabric Paint (blue and red)

- Tape

- Scissors

- cotton

- Q-tip

- Newspaper or plastic bag

 

  

You can get sneakers for as little as 500ksh or less. mine are old shoes I got last year and stopped wearing them because I didn't take care of it well so I ruined the fabric. The paint is 80ksh each and is enough for 2 pairs of shoes. There are different types of paint make sure you get fabric paint. You can get it in town or downtown at any shop that sells tailoring items.

STEP 1: Remove your shoes laces because you don’t want to put paint on them. Cut your tape in half to get small pieces of tape and use the tape to draw linings on your shoes. Where you will put the tape is the area that will remain white. REMEMBER that you must protect the bottom of the shoe so your paint doesn’t go overboard.

 

  

STEP 2: According to the British flag, apply the colors where they are supposed to be. You can use my illustration or you can download an image of the flag and use that to guide you.Use the Q-tip to fill in the small areas.

  

  

STEP 3: Let the paint dry for about 30 minutes. While you are waiting; do your nails!

 :-D. You will need red nail polish, white nail polish and your top coat. Always apply a base before applying any kind of nail polish to protect your nails from discoloration. Take your time wit the zigzag if you are a beginner and for the dots, just drop some nail polish on your nail, very lightly to obtain the small dots. Don’t forget the black nail polish for Santa’s eyes. You can choose to add the zigzag, leave it plain red or apply dots and zigzag. I just love to stand out. Lol. I usually have difficulties designing my right hand so what I do is, I keep it simple without any designs.

AND YOU HAVE IT!

STEP 4: Remove the tape from the shoes, put your shoe laces back on and show off!!

THERE WE HAVE IT. TURNING OLD TO GOLD, BORING TO FABULOUS!!

GET TO KNOW ME!

Hi everyone! Once again sorry for my absence, when I first started this blog I thought it would be best to post 4 times or more a week, then I was like wait a minute... I am gonna run out of ideas and cool stuff. Because i have so many things I can do but I select which ones i will put on my blog and which ones I won't. I am currently working on two different posts but one of them is taking me some time, but it's coming. So for the in-between post! Here is 20 things you didn't know about me. Blogger edition. Get to know me guys!

1: My name is not written Rshan, I changed it myself because I thought Rshan was much cooler

2: I am 20 years old

3: My favorite color is pink and I love polka dots. Let's call it an obsession.

4: I suffer from depression and tend to be suicidal very often. :-(

5: I was in the football team and basketball team but always sat on the bench.

   

6: Growing up I always thought  I had a twin sister or was switched at birth with another baby.

7: I watch horror movies only during the day. That’s from 6:am to 3:30pm

8: My dream job is to become an entrepreuneur and have one of the biggest fast-food restaurant in the african continent, I wanna be so big, like KFC with estates and make it into Africa’s richest women. 

9: I don’t call YSL as Yves Saint Laurent, because my favorite stylist Jeanie mai calls it Yes sweet lord! So I always refer to it as Yes Sweet Lord!

10: Before I die, I wanna touch a life or two or even millions, that is my greatest wish before I die. There are so many people in this world who may just need a hug or a single word to change their world. I wanna offer that because one time in life all I needed was a hug and the words “I care” or “you matter”.

11: I talk to non-living things and animals. Not that they listen but I respect them, or I don’t know…..  we just talk, it’s very weird but It’s an old habit. And no! I am not crazy.

12: I am the first born and I have two brothers and one sister. I love them to death.

13: When I turn 25 I want to move to South Africa.

14: I am done with school, jumped a few classes which allowed me to have a degree at 20years old. I don’t consider myself smart, I consider myself lucky.

15: I love skateboarding

16: I used to have no confidence because of my croocked teeth but as I grew older, I got complimented a lot on my smile. Now I love my teeth.

17: My two top favorite hobbies are D.I.Ys and shopping/window shopping.

18: I am a believer, I believe in life and especially in dreams, that is why I always dream big and bigger every time.

19: I don’t like jewelries as much as I love my clothes. I’d feel sad for my jewelries but I’d cry over my clothes and might take days to get over it.

20: I am not a judgemental person and I don’t like judgemental people. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, don’t assume. Ask and get to know. Everyone has a story, hear it don’t make it up.

A DENIM SHIRT

Find it, buy it and rock it! 

First of all, how is everyone doing? Merry Christmas!

Okay! I talk about wanting to stand out all the time. How do you do it with only one shirt! Yes, 14 days! one denim shirt to wear! Sounds kind of impossible when you think about it. But there is so much you can do with only one denim shirt. You can tie it over your head, wear it as a cape. lol. Anyway I am just joking so I took the time this week to challenge myself on different ways to wear a denim shirt for two weeks. The goal is not to look like you just remixed the same outfit, yes of course it is the same shirt but how can we renew it every single day for 14 days?

This is the first DIY challenge on my blog, so I was very excited for it. I got more challenges coming but I am so in love with the whole denim trend; this had to be my first challenge. So took my time and came up with 15 ways to wear a denim shirt. Please note that you can purchase some of the items. To find them, like my page on Facebook. "Beauty4brokegirls - B4BG" ... LOOK 1: BOYFRIEND CLOSET ADDICT

                         

 

Have I expressed my love for my boyfriend jeans yet? If i could get 10 of those, I would. 

Let me let you all in on a little secret, I don't know how to walk in heels but I will still buy them. :-D

So i am wearing a denim shirt and boyfriend jeans with black pumps and a silver belt. Don't forget to leave a little cleavage, undo a button or two

The belt I got for 50Ksh

Denim shirt I got for 500Ksh at toy market

Boyfriend jeans if I remember well, about 300Ksh at Gikomba and my shoes for 2500Ksh

LOOK 2: BACK TO SCHOOL

        

Polka dots! military boots! denim shirt! Sounds like a great recipe doesn't it. So there you have it,tuck your denim inside your skirt, wear a cute skirt rock it and work it! And now for my favorite part, well not all the time but I promised i will do it for every lookbook post, so let's do it.

LOOK 3: TRIBAL PRINT

    

Forgive my sleepy eyes! It was morning and I was trying to switch to another pose, that is why I cut the picture, because my feet look awkward. But they say, unaware pictures are good too. Now back to the real topic here. Okay! I am wearing a tribal print bodycon skirt I got at 300 one lucky day walking along Adams and I paired it with my denim shirt and a neck-piece I got at 500ksh. Sometimes I get good deals, sometimes I don't. But hey it's life.

LOOK 4: IMMA BOSS ASS BITCH... BITCH.... BITCH

     

I kinda look badass in this picture or not. !?! anyway! This is a very simple one, and cheap too, remember to look good on a budget. People never comment on price tags but style. So what I added to my denim shirt here is a black body-con skirt I got at 1000 in town. Yes I was robbed but someone bought it for me, I wasn't even there, I was told over the phone.

LOOK 5: LEATHER TIGHTS / FAUX PANTS

   

Another simple way to wear a denim. For this look, I added my chain neck-piece and a pair of leather tights I got for 300 back in 2012 at Ngara.

LOOK 6: MAXI DOSE

   

Small changes can make a big difference, You can wear the denim with the polka dot skirt or the tribal print bodycon skirt and no one will notice that you just wore the same shirt 3 times.

LOOK 7: SHAWTY LET LOOSE...

   

YES! LITERRALY! We are remixing the Polka dot skirt Again but this time with a polka dot bandage crop top I got at 50 bob. I think that is how it's called i am not sure. I love this combination so much that I wore it for the day.


LOOK 8: SUNDAY BLUES

     

Wedges... check! Denim shirt ... check! Maxi skirt... Check Awesome T-shirt... Double check!! Perfect for a typical sunday. for church or a perfect picnic, unless you are the type to stay in your Pjs like me and watch movies all day... then NEXT.


LOOK 9: GIRL NEXT DOOR

  

This is me on days I don't feel like carrying too much baggage on me, I just wanna be free. So a cute summer dress will do, pointy flats and a chain neck-piece to add that vavavoom. People don't need to know I feel like shit! You know. One of those days. A neck-piece, flats and a 150ksh dress can make a difference. Damn I love a good deal!!!


LOOK 10: CRAZY GOT NOTHING ON ME

      

Crazy got nothing on me, I swear! I am wearing a denim shirt with another denim shirt tied around my waist, a 300ksh pair of jeggings with faux leather on both sides with a plain white vest inside I got at 50ksh, my chain neck-piece and my combat boots.
Y'all must be wondering. Where the heck do you get stuff so cheap? well, always walk with a little extra, I believe you only a see an awesome deal once, take it now or forget about i


LOOK 11: COLD AS STONE

    

Remember the studded swearter we made on a recent post? " D.I.Y STUDDED SWEATER". Wearing my favorite sweater, and if you would like to see how we did it. just check out that post. The sweater was 150Ksh and the studs and design, I did it myself.


LOOK 12: A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE

    

Yes a walk down memory lane. Because it is the same sweater I wore on the previous look. Same sweater, same denim, different ways to wear it."I don't know how to wear my denim shirt" is no longer an excuse, sweater in or sweater out, Think style!


LOOK 13: DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER

    

Don't forget your roots. enough said!
The shorts I did it myself, with a pair of skinny jeans I got when I was 16. I loved them so much I couldn't throw them away even if they didn't fit. Then last year, I went through a designer phase for a while and those jeans where my first ever design. So i have had them for 4 years.

LOOK 14: BOSS BITCH!!

    

Did my working ladies thought I forgot about them? no! There you have it, look official but still fashionably in style and sexy too. Work it!!!


LOOK 15: BELT IT UP

             

Amazing what just a few changes can do to an outfit. I am still wearing the same things I wore in look 10 with just a few changes, a clutch and hot high heels. The black clutch I got at 150Ksh at Ngara and I love it and the shoes I got for 700Ksh at some garage sale in town back in 2012, so that's last year. Good things come by only once.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT 15 WAYS TO WEAR A DENIM SHIRT.




I admit this wasn't as easy as you think to come up with 15 ways to wear one shirt. But they say " when you want you can" . My favorite ways to wear a denim shirt are, Look 10, 11, 12, 1, 7 and 15... I love them all but If you know me, expect to see me rocking those very soon.
