D.I.Y
POLKA JEANS
Hi guys,
I hope all is well, and TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday), because it means another
D.I.Y to try out. Before we start, let me just clarify that I have had these
jeans for 3 years now and wore them about 5 times only. I don’t know why, we
all have that one outfit in our closet
that we bought and never find the occasion or need to wear it but at the same
time can’t let go. So I pulled myself together and decided to use it for today’s
post. I have no intentions of wearing them anytime soon so why waste it? Pimp it?
Maybe I start wearing them again. Polka are not necessarily trending but the
polka trend never fades away and as you all know, I am gaga about polka dots,
there is just something about them, y’all can have stars and hearts, give me
all the polka dots in the world, small medium and large. With all the tutorials
I have done, what I love the most is having fun with it, if something does not
seem funny, I am doing it, boredom bores me. So this tutorial is all fun and
easy, I also like what is easy because there is a lazy side in me who just can’t
wait to get done with everything, so the easiest and the funniest, the better I
focus and put in 100%. I always find an excuse for my laziness, so to justify
it let me just say that bill gate say he “will always choose a lazy person to
do a job”, of course we think quick, fast and better. That’s called
development. J Anyway let’s do this.
WHAT YOU
NEED
-
Jeans
-
Paint
-
Nail polish bottle / pencil
I like cheap things, and I like cheap D.I.Ys even better. But
let’s clarify this, I am not that cheap… okay I am but not to the extreme. At least
that’s what I think. All the above items are pretty easy to find, fabric paint
you can get for only 70ksh at any craft shop, and please make sure it is fabric
paint. The nail polish you can get at 50ksh and the jeans I recommend old jeans
but if you don’t have any, you can get jeans for as little as 150Ksh… Oh yes you
can! Goood ones.
STEP ONE
Lay down your fabulous jeans and dip the top part of the nail
polish bottle or crayon into the paint and, you can put the paint in the cap so
you don’t waste too much paint by dipping it in.
STEP TWO
Dot it on to the jeans, how you wish it to be, I started with
many dots at the top, and reduced as I got lower and eventually stopped. Then
let it dry for a few minutes, to be safe 10 minutes. I did not do the back of the jeans, because i just wanted to show you guys how this can be done. You can do the back too if you wish.
THEN VOILA!!!
