Hey guys! As you all know I don’t post anything without research first. I got nominated for the “Sunshine Award” And do you know what that tells me? That I am doing something right. Honestly speaking, I have my moments, I woke up this morning and thought to myself, you know what, I am going to close down my blog. Most of you must be thinking “Why?” “Are you okay?” . Yes I am fine guys, I just had a down moment, I have had so many great opportunities lately and I am just watching them get blown up and I am like “Wtf is happening” I don’t know. Honestly speaking I am not the giving up type of person, because at the beginning I was deing for 1000views but look at me now. 15000+ views, but I still felt like a failure. Anyway that time of the month I guess, or almost. I was ready to come home and said, I am done (I was thinking it, but didn’t believe I can do it). So I got a call from a really good friend of mine I knew back when I was doing my degree, we meet and he says “He wants to help me with my blog and other things”.  Then I thought to myself, “You must be kidding me right?”, I was speechless and if he reads this, he will remember, I didn’t know what to say. This is crazy guys, everytime I have one of my meltdowns I come “this” close to closing down everything then someone comes along and reminds me why I shouldn’t, I am actually doing something good. But don’t get me wrong, I believe in failing before I succeed, at the same time, I am a depressed, emotionally unbalanced woman. Honestly speaking, I love you guys, so much but I am only human.

Who nominated me?

Thanks to Karen for nominating me and giving her appreciation for my blog, now it’s words like that keep me going, we all need it from time to time. Thank you girl for seeing the creativity in me as I see in you, keep inspiring all of us bloggers and followers and do your thing.

What is the Sunshine award? 

To be honest it’s trending and has been on rise for a couple of days now, according to my research. So the Sunshine award was created to celebrate and pay tribute to the creators, performers and promoters of art. In my understanding they promote creative minds and encourage creative minds to grow. The sunshine award was solely a carribean tradition but has now expanded to south America, Central America and Africa (Yay us J ! )

Prizes?

Sorry I did not gather much information on this and for what I can tell you all is, I love this “Sunshine award” Because it’s a way of us bloggers getting to know each other and finding out which bloggers actually are amongst our viewers. And the “Sunshine Award” project is a gift to us all because they appreciate what we do and a bit of appreciation is worth more than material gifts, because that is why we all blog, not because we want material compensation from it. I also saw on another webpage that the winners were already announced, but I think this is another one.

RULES

As part of the rule to claim reward, I have to write 10 interesting things about me. Here we go:

1-   While growing I did not walk until the age of 2 years old

2-   I don’t like Romance movies

3-   I have a phobia of little things crippled in a small place. For example, ants, tiny dots, even worst looking at something inside a microscope and seeing the little molecules. No thank you.

4-   I am a bare-foot girl. I do not like shoes!

5-   When I was fourteen-fifteen, I was travelling and wore a thong for the first time and high heels. We were in Ethiopia at the Airport and it was raining so I fell on my butt in the rain water and I could hear people holding their laughs in, my skirt slid down and exposed my underwear. Most embarrassing moment ever. I think that’s why I still can’t walk in heels.

6-   I ate a weed cookie only one time in my life and I literally saw dolphins, I think I was tricked into eating it, luckily I was in my house. I saw a sea, dolphins, I heard voices and became paranoid as fuck! Never again, now that I know how it smells, can’t get me no more.

7-   I have a scar on my right cheek that was due to burn, I was playing with fire and the plastic landed on my cheek.

8-   I am a princess. My grandfather was a king of our village and now he’s no longer around (R.I.P grandpa, I love you) and now that makes my daddy a king.

9-   I had a dream once that I actually died, and felt my spirit leave my body, it was very strange but felt so real.

10-                Most little girls dream of a fairytale wedding, I just want a big house.

My Fashion Cabin: The reason i nominate this blog is because she nominated me and i want you all to go check out her blog.

Humans For Equality: I am against inequality and that is my field of study, anything that causes other people harm i stand against it, and as the hot topic lately. Homosexuality is the concern and I publicly and proudly stand for it. Check out this awesome blog and learn instead of judging.

WHAT TO WEAR FOR THE COLD WEATHER

Hi everyone, I am Shasha and welcome to my blog, to those of you who are new and I just really feel like introducing myself. I have had this blog for almost 5 months, okay to be precise since November 6^th 2013. I love this blog with all my heart, I have countless friends I can interact with anytime and feel inspired and also inspire. I can be silly, quite dumb and it’s still funny. I guess.! Anyways today’s post came from the heart. The day I shot the pictures for this post is actually the day I thought about doing something like this. This is how it happened.

I woke up in the morning, I had a class that day, and as a typical 21 century woman, I didn’t know what to wear and this cold weather did not help. I literally took clothes in and out of my closet for about 30 minutes before deciding on what to wear. I just couldn’t find anything, so that light bulb on my forehead lit up. “Ding”. I thought to myself, I must not be the only one having trouble dressing for this weather. How about I blog about what to wear for this season, so I spent my day thinking and thinking… These are just few awesome ideas I thought of, follow me on instagram for more ideas. You should, I go to school daily so, I am sure a new idea will be born every day. So here we go.

NUMBER 1: LEATHER JACKET

One thing about me is that, I am a shorty, I know I look tall in my photos but don’t be fooled. Tyra thought me all the tricks (Thank you A.N.T.M) so my new best jeans are these high waisted red jeans. Because they give me long legs. A giraffe wouldn’t stand a chance. I be 5’ft looking 5’8. Okay that’s a joke. I paired it up with a leather jacket and a pocket Tee, with my all time favorite combat boots.

NUMBER 2: HIGH LOW SWEATER

I love sparkles and this sweater of mine is so sparkly I can’t even snap a good picture. It took me like 10 minutes to get the good shot, it was too shiny. I am the type who practices my poses in the mirror, so I time my camera, get in front, strike a pose and we done. I love this outfit because it makes my hair and my lipstick pop.

NUMBER 3: THE DENIM SHIRT

Guys true story. This outfit is the exact same outfit I wore to school this same day I came up with this post. After 30 minutes of not knowing what I should put on, this is what I ended up with. I honestly thought I looked boring. But my friend told me I look cute. I mean, I didn’t even try. ***Getting a big head.

NUMBER 4: VARSITY SWEATER

If you have understood my style by now, I love swag, I know I am no longer a teenager but hey 20 ain’t far from 19. Besides, lil wayne is still doing it at 31. I am versatile with my style only when I have to go to “The office” (When I had a job), That is when I will actually look professional, other than that. This is me all day, all week. Wassup!

NUMBER 5: VARSITY JACKET

Have you ever taken one those photos, you stare at and you are like “Lord Jesus I am cute, is this me, like for real those are my legs, damn who threw some fabulous dust at me… uh uh it’s not me… Oh my Gosh It’s me. Profile pic pap!” Yes in other words. I love this style, I love this picture.

NUMBER 6: OVERSIZED SWEATER

I feel so full of swagger, I think it’s over-flowing. Am I praising myself too much. Guys honestly this is me, I know I am not all that but if I don’t tell myself I am the bomb, clearly there’s something wrong. You need to fall in love with yourself before anyone falls in love with you. I find me beautiful, I find me sexy, I’d hit on me, and I’d F*** me. Too much of T.M.I (too much information? Anyway let’s move on.

  

NUMBER 7: BOYFRIEND JACKET

This outfit makes me want to put on my spects (I am shortsighted) , put on some black heels, put my hair in a ponytail and go get an office job. Momma would be so proud.

NUMBER 8: INFINITY SCARF

Is it called infinity scarf because it never ends?? …?? Mmmmh I don’t get it but anyway, it hasn’t gone out of fashion ever since it came in so whoever came up with that name. Kudos to you.

NUMBER 9: CARDIGAN

I took these photos as soon as I got home from school, I am the type of person, when I get an idea, let’s do it, I am all work all business. And I pray that cute fabulous denim washed out cardigan gets me my next job. I will style, sell, design, blog my heart out. It’s a lucky Cardigan. Somebody employ me, I do blog, a bit of design, styling, modeling, I have a degree in Human Resources, currently studying Community development, I have my own online clothing shop/line and I can do pretty much anything you think I can do. I love it when people discover my talents for me. I didn’t know I could blog until my blog went crazy with views, I didn’t know I could model until I got chosen to compete in pageants, I didn’t know I could design, until I was told I can. I want to grow again, so contact me.

NUMBER 10: TRENCH COAT

I actually came up with 10 different styles. Yay. I thought I wouldn’t even get to 7 but I overdid myself. 2 digits baby. I am happy and thank you all for stopping by.

Hope you have fun rocking these styles and hopefully you cheer up about the current weather, so many people are complaining that it’s too cold, but let’s embrace it.

D.I.Y MAXI SKIRT

Hi guys. It’s been a long week, may have seemed short because I last posted on Tuesday. But I am back again with another D.I.Y. The gaps between the D.I.Y posts is quiet long and I wish I could post every day. It’s tiring but I just have so many reasons to fall in love with this blog. It is taking me to places I never thought I could even peep into, and connecting me to people I thought I had zero chance in a million of ever knowing. So I am very grateful for everything. People are appreciating my talent and that makes me feel awesome. As busy as I am getting now, with school and everything, I won’t ever stop my posting routine because you guys are just awesome. Every like, share comment is like, omg I can’t express how awesome it feels. With that said, we are almost at 15000 views my loves. 5 months and 15000 views. In words, fifteen thousand views. Somebody shoot me... haha not litteraly.

For today’s post, we are going to pimp a maxi dress. I am sure some of you are like “Phonsi are you really going to destroy a maxi dress” yes, but listen I started messing with it some time back already,  tried to reduce it because it felt too big and the tailor I went to, totally fucked it up, as you can see. Look for yourselves, and again I got the dress for really cheap. So let’s begin :-D

WHAT WE NEED:

-      A maxi dress

-      Scissors

-      Elastic and needle and thread.

I got the maxi dress at 50ksh only, i think that is why i felt no pain using it for a D.I.Y. Some of the tutorials i post, i do get doubts, I am human, but I still do it, because my crazy mind can't help it but convince me that what I will do will work.

STEP ONE

Wear your maxi dress and determine where you will cut it, which will be right below the arms.

STEP TWO

Cut the maxi that is it. We are Done and You got yourself a brand new set of fabulous, trending clothes in your closet. Quick, fashionable and fabulous.

OPTIONAL: If the maxi is large around the waist, put the elastic for it to fit, mine was not large and fit perfectly, it was quiet tight so I decided not to do anything.

You can keep the upper part and wear it as a cropped vest. fabulous. :-)
