D.I.Y CUT OUT RIPPED JEANS

Hi guys welcome to another Friday of “D.IY”. I hope everyone is doing fabulous and had a productive week. It’s almost the weekend, so I am happy although I am only free on Sunday because Saturday I have classes all day, anyway enough about me. Today’s D.I.Y is very exciting and crazy. I am sure you have all come across these cut out jeans, not ripped jeans but cut out because it’s a big cut not a rip. I have seen it quite a few times recently and most people are choosing to do them with tight jeans and cut out large or medium holes in the jeans and wear them like that, they really look nice. So I decided to do my own and post it on the blog. What I have noticed it that, the bigger the cut, the trashier it looks, keep it medium and the smaller the cut, then it’s just ripped jeans, and I have seen some people cut right below their bottom, very risky but I like people who are not afraid to do what the ordinary wouldn’t, so thumbs up to you. With all that said, let’s get started.

WHAT YOU NEED:

-      Jeans

-      Razor

-      Cardboard
- Needle
- Pen/Pencil/crayon/chalk

The jeans can be tight, or extremely loose or boyfriend jeans. I chose not to go with really tight jeans because what I noticed is, if the jeans are too tight, after you cut out the jeans and wear them, it’s like your flesh is popping out of jeans and I am sure that hurts. So I got my zara jeans at 150ksh and now I am about to turn it into 1500ksh! I love it!

STEP 1:

Wear the jeans and determine where you will do the cutting from, if you have a pen or chalk, just mark that area so you don’t forget.

STEP 2:

Lay down your jeans and cut out where you have marked, do not forget to put something on the inside of the jeans as you are cutting so you don’t cut the other side too. I didn't cut the hole out straight forward, i made a few lines then wore the jeans again to see if i will get the result i want. If you do the same and you are worried about the lines, just make them rugged and you will be fine.

STEP 3:

Pull out the strings with your needle and since i don't have one, i used an earring;  and pardon my English but that black thing in the picture; yes. grate it on the jeans where the cuts were done to remove the sharp lines of the razor.

THEN WE HAVE IT!

I am actually wearing these for the day, and exactly like this but with my leather jacket, it's cold. I planned to work on these jeans for so long now and I am happy I finally got to do it. I am sure my mother is looking at this and thinking “this is so stupid” to cut your brand new jeans. NOTE:

-      When cutting, don’t just cut the jeans straightforward, cut in the way that you are making cuts, because we do not want sharp cuts as it will be harder to pull the strings.

-      If you make a mistake and cut where you didn’t intend to, don’t worry, there are no mistakes in art.

-      The more times you wash your jeans and the more times you wear them, it gets more rugged and then becomes doper. 

- Sorry English is actually my second language, no i think third if my national local language counts. hahahaha. I think it does, because first i learned how to speak lingala then french, then English. so third.

Hello everyone, First of all, thank you so much for the love, we just hit 20000+ views and I am on top of the moon right now. In that post I answered some interesting blogger questions that I am often asked and I promised to answer more when I hit 20000 views. But before we do that, it’s been long ever since I posted a tutorial on nail art design, I thought to celebrate this milestone, it will be best to do something that got me started on this journey, my first step and my first ever post and also nail art tutorial. STRIPED NAIL ART TUTORIAL

WHAT YOU NEED:

-      Black nail polish

-      White nail art polish

-      Top coat (Optional)

I am using black because I saw this nail art on tv and thought it was so cool, I had to have it on my nails, so I tried it out, if you do not want to use black, it is okay to use any other color, it will still look fabulous. I buy all my nail polishes for 50ksh sometimes less but most places it’s 50ksh. This tutorial is so easy and fun at the same time it’s a trending style and a must try. Stay updated.

STEP 1: apply the black nail polish unto your nails and let it dry for a few minutes. You can choose to shape your nails as you would like, I chose not to because I like the direction and shape in which my nails grow, so I did nothing to it.

STEP 2: Use your white nail art polish to draw the stripes on your nails, do not rush, focus and take it easy. So you don’t end up with zigzag lines. Start stripping from the middle of the nail, it makes it easier to have an even difference of space between the stripes. Let it dry.

STEP 3: apply your top coat and let it dry for sometime and you are done.

Do your other hand too, i decided to do something different on my right hand. and here it is.

THEN YOU ARE DONE!

Save on going to the salon to do your manicure and do it at home. Have fun with it. Hi loves, welcome to my blog, the only place you can look fabulous on a low budget. I will show you all the secrets on how to look expensive when you are broke. Believe it or not, everyone judges your physical aspects before getting to know you. First impression is everything. On that same note, an employer will first judge you by the way you are dressed, that is why people take out suits on interview days. But when it comes to a fashion interview; that is where the cards are not the same, because you are not only presenting your intelligence but also your personality, how do you do that? How easy is it to look official, but still in style and exciting? It’s not just suits and black shoes. This post is actually inspired by my own experience, I had a fashion interview this week and I spent hours deciding on what is appropriate, what is fun and what will best portray me? Then I found it. But before we see what is was; I invited a few friends to help me out on this post.

I decide to reach out to a few friends all over the world and together we will give you guys the best tips and inspiration on how to dress to a fashion interview without looking boring.

WanjiruStyles: I chose to feature Wanjiru because she is a busy woman, on that grind 24/7 and who better to get inspiration from than someone who has to go through it every day? Although her job is not in the fashion industry but her passion for good clothes is. Every opportunity you get, let them know that you are not only intelligent but you are presentable. Because some people employ based on the looks; Make the organization look good, it makes you approachable and opportunities will come your way quicker than the others. In other words, stand out!

Imperfect Muse: If I was the employer, and someone came dressed like this for an interview? Sweetie you made the cut already. A person who knows how to dress well is most likely smart too, experienced, creative, risk taker and unique, those are qualities most employers need in their business especially if it is a fashion interview, make a statement before they even ask your name. They will name you already, “That good looking girl over there with amazing style”. Fashion is about standing out, being you. A fashion interview is about living a great lasting first impression. WinnieTheFashionista: I had to put this style up, for those that say, you cannot wear tights to an interview, ask Winnie to explain it to you in fashionese. These particular tights you can wear them, rock them, and get the job. Remember this is not any type of interview but a fashion interview, black suits and a black shirt will not do it. You will fade away and be forgotten. Let the whole outfit not be too revealing, as you can see her curves are not very much exposed, she still looks sexy, fun and smart.

  

MY OUTFITS: These are the three outfits I handpicked for my interview. A dress, jeans and my lovely polka dot pants. I am remixing the shoes 3 times because I had to wear something from my blog, they said Come with you CV, and I am just wearing part of mine. D.I.Y ANKARA PRINT SHOES

Hey loves, how is everyone’s weekend been? I hope everyone partied hard and today I am going to share some “Vaseline Use” tricks that I learned and that I frequently use with you. It required a lot of research and thinking and experiments, please give the sister a thumbs up. You can get Vaseline for about 70ksh or less in any supermarkets. For 70ksh, you can use it over 60 times. Please enjoy!

2.    Lip balm: You can use Vaseline as chap stick

3.    Pet food bowls: Apply Vaseline onto pet food bowls to keep off ants

4.    Door Hinges: Fix squeaky door hinges by applying on some Vaseline to the area

5.    Mustache: Vaseline can also be used as mustache wax

6.    Better looking cuticles: Apply Vaseline several times a day, every day and get softer cuticles

7.    Longer Lashes: Put Vaseline on your eyelashes before bed time and experience longer lashes. This is actually very popular.
